About Russian

Russian is an East Slavic language and the official language of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. It is one of the six official languages of the United Nations. Russian uses the Cyrillic script, developed in the First Bulgarian Empire. The language has a complex grammar system with six grammatical cases, three genders, and verb aspect pairs.
