About Malay

Malay (Bahasa Melayu) is an Austronesian language spoken in Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, and parts of Thailand. It is closely related to Indonesian and largely mutually intelligible. Malay uses the Latin alphabet (Rumi) and traditionally the Arabic script (Jawi). The language has simple grammar with no tenses or grammatical gender.
