Slovak is a West Slavic language spoken primarily in Slovakia. It is closely related to Czech and largely mutually intelligible. Slovak uses the Latin alphabet with numerous diacritical marks (á, ä, č, ď, é, í, ľ, ň, ó, š, ť, ú, ý, ž). The language has six grammatical cases and a rich system of declensions.
